Our client Freddie Cunliffe owns a very successful hairdressing business in Rawtenstall, Lancashire. For the last few years, Freddie and his staff have put on a spectacular hair and fashion show at Blackpool’s annual ‘Festival of Hair and Beauty’ held in the resorts Winter Gardens. Freddie explained to me that when he was starting out in the industry Blackpool’s Festival of Hair and Beauty was ‘the’ event to go to, so now he is putting as much as he can back in to the event for the hair dressing stars of tomorrow.
We shot the show on two cameras and one ‘run through’. We added our own original music composition to match the tempo of the shows original music, so that we didn’t have any copyright issues to contend with. The transition from the ‘getting ready’ section of the video to the show itself was filled with some still images that I shot on the show the day before.
The great success of this video was the way that it was spread by Freddies own staff. One person was told about it and within a couple of weeks it had been viewed hundreds of times. Even now it is linked to peoples facebook pages. More interesting was how, during this time, searches for ‘hairdressing Rawtensall’ had Freddies on the front page of Google before he even had a web site; the link was to his Youtube video. A great example of Web 2.0 in action.
There is a special discount for anyone who can spot a famous ex-world motorcycling champion hiding in the audience and tell us why he was there.
